As part of our Managed Operations Security team, you'll receive training, mentoring, and exposure to real-world security operations while developing the technical and professional skills needed for a successful career in cyber security. What You'll Be Doing In this role, you'll work closely with experienced team members to: Monitor security systems and technology platforms to help identify potential threats and issues Investigate alerts and incidents under guidance from senior analysts Support the maintenance and operation of security tools and systems Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues Help document processes, procedures, and technical solutions Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the team Learn industry best practices in cyber security, risk management, and operational excellence Collaborate with team members across Datacom to deliver positive outcomes for our customers What We're Looking For Required Recent completion of a degree in: Cyber Security Information Technology Computer Science Information Systems Software Engineering Or a related discipline Australian Citizenship (required to be eligible for Baseline Security Clearance) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills A genuine interest in cyber security and technology Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn and take on new challenges Nice to Have You don't need to have all of these, but exposure to any of the following is beneficial: Windows, Linux or Unix operating systems Networking fundamentals Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud) Security concepts such as SIEM, threat monitoring, incident response or vulnerability management Scripting or programming experience (PowerShell, Python, SQL or similar) Industry certifications such as: Security+ Microsoft Fundamentals Azure Fundamentals ITIL Foundation About Datacom With over 6,500 people across Australia and New Zealand, Datacom partners with organisations to design, build, and run technology solutions that help communities and businesses thrive.
