Location: Barston, Solihull (Office-based, Full Time)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–3:00pm

SDLT Check is a specialist provider of Stamp Duty Land Tax solutions. We help solicitors, accountants, and property professionals navigate complex and non-standard SDLT matters. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Graduate Tax Software Developer to join our Barston, Solihull office. This is a unique role that combines tax and finance expertise with software development and AI innovation to deliver market-leading client solutions.
The Role

As a Graduate Tax Software Developer, you will:

  • Develop, test, and refine in-house tax software and AI-driven tools to support SDLT underwriting.
  • Work closely with the underwriting team to create software solutions that handle non-standard SDLT cases efficiently.
  • Respond to solicitor enquiries and integrate software solutions to streamline these processes.
  • Collaborate with Account Management team to create systems that improve client communication and case handling.
  • Take ownership of SDLT matters outside of sales activities, ensuring software systems support accurate and timely case resolution.
  • Explore and implement AI applications that enhance data analysis, document automation, and decision-making.

This role offers structured training and mentoring from senior professionals, giving you the chance to grow both your tax knowledge and your software development skills in a highly specialised sector.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related discipline (2:1 or above preferred).
  • Knowledge or experience in software development (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar) and an interest in AI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential due to office location).
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site in Barston, Solihull.
