Step Into Teaching is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Hockley, currently looking to appoint Graduate Teaching Assistants for the new academic year. These full-time positions are ideal for aspiring teachers and offer a direct route into school-based teacher training within the trust.

The Opportunity:

• Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
• Responsibilities: 1:1 and small group support in core subjects
• Location: Hockley, Essex
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term time only)
• Pay: £480–£520 per week
• Progression: Pathway into teacher training offered

Requirements:

• A 2:2 or above in any honours degree
• Strong academic background in English, Maths, or Science (GCSE grade C/4 or above)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A confident, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
• A passion for education and helping young people reach their full potential

In this role, you’ll:

• Support students during class-based activities
• Lead structured 1:1 and small group sessions
• Assist teachers in preparing learning materials
• Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage student engagement
