Step Into Teaching is working in partnership with a forward-thinking, inclusive college in Cannock. We’re recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants for full-time roles starting this September, ideal for anyone looking to work with young people aged 16–19 in a further education environment.
You’ll play a key role in supporting students across a variety of courses, with opportunities to work one-to-one, with small groups, or in class alongside a lead teacher.
Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: College based in Cannock
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only
Salary: £480 – £520 per week

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS PERFECT FOR GRADUATES WHO ARE:

• Interested in teaching, educational psychology, or SEND

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• A 2:2 degree or above (all disciplines considered)
• Minimum GCSE grade C/4 in English, Maths and Science
• Positive, proactive and willing to learn
• A genuine interest in supporting young people and helping them succeed

• Supporting learners during lessons, both 1:1 and in small groups
• Helping students with core subjects such as English, Maths and Science
• Assisting with classroom organisation and resource preparation
• Supporting students with additional needs, helping to break down barriers to learning
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
  You’ll be fully supported throughout your placement by both the college and Step Into Teaching, with regular check-ins and guidance on your next steps – whether that’s teacher training, a postgraduate course or another path in education.
