Description

A Primary School in Guildford is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a Key Stage 2 class. You will be supporting the class teacher, running 1:1 interventions, leading small groups and helping to develop maths and literacy skills in the classroom. You will also be taking part outside of the classroom, in lunchtime supervision, PE lessons and more!
Previous experience in a classroom is desirable but not essential, experience can be from any childcare setting or any other establishment where you have gained skills in behaviour management, creativity, or lesson planning. While the position will initially be on a long-term, temporary contract, there is potential to join the school on a permanent basis, which can be discussed with the school during your placement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be available to begin immediately
  • A DBS on the Update Service (Desirable)
  • Bachelors’ undergraduate degree or overseas equivalent (desirable)
  • Childcare experience (Desirable)
  • Passion for education and learning
  • Good literacy skills – GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent
  • Good numeracy skills– GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent
