Flow Traders is looking for a Graduate Trading Operations Engineer to join our growing Trading Operations team in Amsterdam. As part of our Trading Operations team, you will work within our technology landscape to safeguard the performance and stability of our proprietary trading systems and the related hardware. In this role, you will act as an SRE, Operations Engineer, and Developer — taking ownership of technical issues and contributing directly to the company’s performance. You will collaborate closely with teams across the business to gain a well-rounded understanding of how our trading applications function and evolve. What you will do Gain expertise in our latency-sensitive trading application stacks, contribute to troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment, and implement solutions Write, test, and integrate monitoring tools using APIs provided by our proprietary trading applications to enhance system visibility and performance Work closely with system administrators to fine-tune Linux-based trading environments Contribute to the automation of our infrastructure and application management Build, use, and maintain CI/CD pipelines Conduct user acceptance testing across internal application stacks and understand how traders and support teams utilize our software Provide technical input to improve the operational effectiveness of our applications Develop your scripting skills (Python or others) by automating complex workflows in collaboration with trading desks What you need to succeed University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems Proficiency in at least one programming language (C++, Python, Go or JavaScript) Basic knowledge or interest in networking Familiarity or interest in technologies such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, or Kafka is a plus Strong sense of teamwork and willingness to learn new skills Good communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to make sound decisions and take ownership Flow Traders does not accept unsolicited resumes from any professional staffing or search firms.
