Job Title: Graduate Trainee Accountant
Salary: £24,000 – £29,000

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Graduated in 2024 or due to graduate soon
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs) and an eagerness to learn systems like Sage or Xero
• Clear and confident communication skills – both written and verbal
• A sharp eye for detail, with an analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Positive attitude, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Keen to pursue a professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA), fully supported by the employer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring financial accuracy
• Carry out daily bank reconciliations and monitor company cash flow
• Support in processing purchase and sales invoices, employee expenses, and assist with payment runs
• Contribute to preparing management accounts, reports, and variance analysis
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, and help create financial models
• Update and maintain fixed asset registers, handling depreciation and disposals
• Assist with audit preparation and provide relevant supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, UK GAAP, and IFRS
• Collaborate with the wider finance team on data entry, admin support, and ad-hoc projects
