JOB SUMMARY

  • This is an exciting graduate-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in education and training.
  • As a Graduate Trainee Assessor, you will support apprenticeship learners, particularly in the Supporting Teaching and Learning and Higher Level Teaching Assistant pathways.
  • You will receive full training and mentoring to gain relevant qualifications and become a fully qualified Assessor within your first year.
  • You will work alongside experienced staff to support learners’ development, track progress, and ensure high-quality delivery and compliance with Welsh Government guidelines.
  • Welsh language skills are essential.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in a structured training programme to achieve Assessor qualifications (Level 3 Learning and development NVQ).
  • Shadow experienced assessors to understand learner assessment and support methods.
  • Learn how to assess learners’ prior achievements and identify suitable entry points into apprenticeship programmes.
  • Assist in identifying learner support needs, including Essential Skills and Soft Skills development.
  • Support the planning and delivery of tailored learning and assessment experiences in collaboration with colleagues and employers.
  • Observe and gradually contribute to delivering engaging and effective teaching that helps scaffold knowledge and skills.
  • Learn to provide constructive feedback and set targets that encourage learner progress.
  • Support regular learner reviews and help monitor and document learning journeys.
  • Help maintain quality standards and assist with safeguarding and health & safety compliance.
  • Work towards meeting learner retention and achievement goals.
  • Develop confidence in employer and learner engagement, including workplace visits across North Wales.
