Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will provide commercial assistance to the project teams. The role will be based either from Leeds or Reading but will involve regular travel across the region.
The role will provide commercial support to Contracts Managers, Quantity Surveyor’s and Commercial Manager, to ensure that all commercial and contractual aspects of the projects under their remit are properly managed, and controlled in an efficient manner, to ensure the maximum financial return and profit for the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend site regularly to provide commercial support, this will include regular working away and overnight stays.
  • Attend site visits and meetings when required.
  • Contribute towards effective interaction between the commercial team and the site teams.
  • Build and maintain good client relationships.
  • Identify any changes to the original scope of works in order to ensure variations are captured and accordingly claimed for.
  • Value completed work and submitted interim Applications for Payment to the client that accurately reflect this, within the timescales specified in the contract.
  • Place subcontracts and value and authorise the subcontractor applications and payments.
  • Preparation of monthly forecasts / reports such as CVRs for review and approval from Commercial Manager.
  • Prepare and analyse project costs and recalculate these during a project if the scope changes.
  • Assist with and ensure accurate cash flow reporting.
  • Ensure that any supply chains or subcontractors used are engaged appropriately within the business and signed off by Procurement / Compliance.
  • Support the monthly WIP process and other reports, including debt.
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts that are in use.
