Job Title: Graduate/Trainee System Accountant Function/Department: Finance Reporting To: Financial Controller Location: Dundalk HQ / Ireland Role Purpose This person will support the effective operation and continuous improvement of BOYLE Sports’ finance systems, with particular exposure to Oracle Fusion across our retail, digital and corporate operations in Ireland, the UK, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar. This role is ideal for a finance graduate or early-career accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement and working with finance technology. You will act as a key link between Finance, IT and the wider business helping ensure that our core finance platforms (ERP/general ledger, reporting tools, banking interfaces, payroll and betting system feeds) are accurate, well-controlled and support reliable financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Finance Systems Support & Maintenance Support day-to-day use of core finance systems (ERP/GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, reporting tools). Help maintain system structures (chart of accounts, cost centres, entities). Monitor financial controls, user access and segregation of duties. Assist with keeping documentation and process maps up to date. Systems Development, Projects & Testing Support system upgrades, new modules, integrations and process improvements. Work with Finance, IT and vendors to gather requirements and test changes. Help prepare and run UAT, logging and resolving issues. Assist with data migration and reconciliations for new entities or products. Reporting, Data Quality & Automation Work with Finance/BI teams to improve financial and management reporting. Monitor data quality across finance systems and reporting tools. Support automation initiatives (e.g., interfaces, workflows, reconciliations). Help troubleshoot system issues during month-end and year-end. Controls, Compliance & Audit Support Support strong financial controls and compliance across jurisdictions. Provide data extracts and access reports for audits. Assist with improvements to data retention and information security. User Support, Training & Continuous Improvement Act as a first point of contact for finance system queries. Help create training materials and user guides. Gather user feedback and support ongoing system improvements. Promote best-practice use of finance systems and continuous improvement. Experience & Qualifications Essential Finance or accounting degree (or part-qualified accountant: ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent). Strong interest in finance systems, process improvement and technology-enabled finance. Understanding of core finance processes (GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, reporting). Good analytical ability and willingness to learn system configuration and testing. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data. Desirable Experience with any finance/ERP system (Oracle Fusion a plus but not required). Exposure to BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar). Basic knowledge of SQL or data querying. Experience in retail, gaming, gambling, or other high-volume transaction environments. Exposure to system implementations, integrations or UAT from internships or previous roles. Skills & Competencies Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Clear and confident communication, with ability to work across finance, IT and operational teams. Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks or small project activities. Curious, proactive and eager to improve processes and learn new systems. Strong integrity and commitment to accuracy and controls. Collaborative team player with a hands-on, can-do approach.
