SUMMARY

Traffix Group is seeking a Graduate Waste Management Officer/Consultant to join its team.
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for sustainability, urban development, and practical environmental solutions? We’re looking for a Graduate Waste Management Officer to join our Waste Management team in Melbourne CBD.
This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in a specialist traffic engineering consultancy that’s committed to improving the design and function of our built environment.
Our waste management services are grounded in the collaborative crossover between traffic engineering, waste strategy, and building servicing. We deliver practical, integrated solutions that shape high-performing developments.
You’ll be working as part of a small, dynamic team, with real potential for rapid career development for the right candidate.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A recent graduate or diploma-holder in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • A clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Ideally candidate to have experience or familiarity with planning systems, urban development, or building services design.
Responsibilities

As a Graduate Waste Management Officer, you will:

  • Prepare waste management reports to support planning approvals and design processes
  • Develop tailored waste strategies for a diverse range of developments – including residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects
  • Collaborate closely with traffic engineers, urban planners, architects, and developers to ensure seamless integration between access design, waste servicing, and building layouts
  • Stay current with relevant waste legislation, local council requirements, and best practice guidelines
  • Contribute to projects that influence smarter, more sustainable design outcomes in new land use and building developments
  • Promote sustainable waste management solutions in line with best practice and Green Star objectives
