Description Grain Management Internship Position Summary This position is responsible for learning the strategy and execution of the center’s grain storage. Receives, stores, and ships grain, ensuring the facility operates safely and efficiently. Responsible for learning and following all company guidelines and procedures. Assist the manager in addressing employee and customer concerns. Job Description: Conduct daily maintenance of the buildings and equipment at the facility. Manages the flow of grain dumped into the elevator and loaded out into the trucks (and rail cars at some sites) Monitors grain in storage and maintains its condition by aeration or turning to keep the grain in good condition. At times, oversee the weighing and grading of grain before it is dumped into the grain elevator. **Interns will be required to give a final presentation reporting the results of their summer experience. Requirements Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture Organization and communication skills Strong decision-making skills Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization Comfortable working at heights, such as walking on catwalks in high positions. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable climbing fixed and stationary ladders. Has the ability to work in confined spaces and in a broad range of climate conditions. Comfortably utilizing mobile and stationary equipment and systems.
