Organization Overview Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization providing health, education, and human services across Fairfield County. With more than 300 professionals and over 500 trained volunteers, we deliver innovative, community-centered programs that support more than 26,000 individuals each year. Overview: The Grants Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of grants and contracts, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and reconciliation. This role ensures that all grant-related financial activities align with organizational policies and funding agency requirements. The ideal Grants Accountant has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of budgeting and financial analysis, particularly within the non-profit sector. Responsibilities: * Monitor and track grant revenues and receipts to ensure all amounts the agency is entitled to are collected. * Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding guidelines. * Prepare and submit timely financial reports to funding. * Work with a variety of funding source portals for uploading documentation. * Assist with grant budget development and modifications. * Collaborate with program managers to review spending and forecast needs. * Reconcile grant accounts and ensure accurate allocation of expenses. * Maintain documentation for audits and reporting requirements. * Ensure timely invoicing and drawdowns from funding sources. * Stay current on federal, state, and private grant regulations. * Support month and year-end close and internal/external audits related to grants. * Support the annual budget preparation process as required. * Other duties as assigned.     Qualifications: * BS in Accounting. * Knowledge of GAAP non-profit accounting. * 3+ years of experience in grant accounting or nonprofit financial management. * Strong computer knowledge enabling usage of MS office, accounting, and billing software. * Excellent Excel skills. * Ability to communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills. * Adhere to policies regarding confidentiality.
