Job Title: Grant & Fundraising Specialist Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid. Onsite Tuesday and Wednesday) Hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday; 40 hour week. Hours can be set with supervisor Pay Rate: $70,000 - $85,000 Annually Type: Contract, 6 Months About: The Division of Diversity and Health Equity Team works to advance the mental health of all populations by supporting programs, initiatives, and educational opportunities that ensure everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their full mental health potential. We collaborate with members, communities, and organizations to help ensure equitable access to mental healthcare, treatments, and outcomes. This individual will work with the team to drive revenue-generating opportunities, including grants, contracts, in support of programs and services. Serving as a strategic partner to division leadership, this role will drive intersectional engagement across membership, healthcare systems, community organizations, and advocacy stakeholders. Through this work, the position will ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and culturally responsive programs while advancing measurable improvements in mental health outcomes across diverse populations. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with fundraising development and execution of the MOORE Equity in Mental Health 5K Run and 1 Mile Fund Walk & Roll a component of the MOORE Initiative. Responsibilities include developing and executing fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue goals (currently $150,000) through peer-to-peer fundraising, sponsorships, and donations, identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors at various giving levels, tracking fundraising performance and reporting progress against goals, creating and updating internal and external webpages, developing and ordering marketing materials and official race products, coordinating colleagues pre, during, and post event to ensure all aspects are successfully completed, etc. Lead the planning and execution of the MOORE Equity in Mental Health Roundtable Conversation(s) and Community Grants Program. Lead the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of grant and contract opportunities aligned with strategic priorities, securing external funding to advance divisional goals. Explore innovative ways to partner with different medical and lay organizations to broaden the collective impact of addressing mental healthcare disparities. Creates and tracks grant required deliverables that are both measurable and sustainable. Disseminates appropriate educational resources through programming. Collects data that can inform the development of additional resources to best serve our members and company areas. Performs need analysis to identify knowledge gap within the teams resources related to diversity and health equity. Reviews and edits the contents of resources. Facilitates post-production analytics of educational resources (working with Marketing and Communications). Contributes to and prepares presentations, issues briefs, position statements and other written materials pertinent to diversity and health equity. Helps with monitoring progress of respective programs, as assigned. Under the direction of the Senior Director, monitors expenditure of respective programs. Partakes in periodic evaluations (e.g., mid-year and year-end evaluations) of programs to report outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or sufficient relevant work experience leading fundraising efforts for events, identifying new sponsorships, crafting campaigns, and promoting events. Three to five years of experience in working on the development of grant opportunities in medicine/health or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skill developing and editing various kinds of reports. Preferably with the ability to develop and coordinate large scale meetings, events, and programs. Preferably with experience with marketing and promoting events and services. Preferably with program management experience in an academic, membership, or association setting. Excellent cultural humility skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with multiple, diverse stakeholders. Excellent writing skills, organization, and prioritization skills. Excellent proficiency with MS Office applications and the Internet.
