Description SAAF Mission The San Antonio AIDS Foundation seeks to reduce HIV transmission, provide support and treatment for those living with HIV, reduce stigma and support positive sexual health. SAAF provides sexual health education, STI and HIV testing and counseling, medical care, case management, housing and meal support, mental health services and referrals for dental health. Access to care and early intervention have a significant impact on the health and well-being of people living with HIV. Position As a non-profit, SAAF frequently applies for grants that are both direct services and research collaboriations. The Grant and Research coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of existing projects, ensuring that they are conducted efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with regulations. They work as a liaison between the research team, study participants, and other stakeholders, will include project planning to ensure the work adheres to the study plan, data collection, developing reports of ongoing results and presenting the results. This position also actively researches grant opportunities, both private and public, and directs the writing and submission of grants with the CEO. This position demands a high level of cultural competency of the unique needs of the gender and sexually diverse community, communities of color, and other marginalized populations Duties and responsibilities Researches grant opportunities, determine suitability for grants, schedules and directs preparation of grants. Plans and coordinates the initiation of research study protocol, and the establishment of operating policies and procedures. Promotes research capacity building among community-based organizations and university partners. Recruits, instructs, and coordinates research subjects and/or volunteers, as appropriate to specific study objectives and work scope. Prepares research ethics board applications as required. Coordinates the collection and analysis of research data. Plans, implements, and maintains data collection and analysis systems in support of research protocol. Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities. Acts as the primary administrative point of contact for internal project staff and as the principle operational liaison for partner organizations, funding agencies and regulating bodies. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of any technical support staff specifically engaged in the carrying out of research/clinical protocol, as appropriate to the position; may perform aspects of research protocol, as required, in accordance with specified program objectives. Monitors the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including supports for other programs related to HIV services Complies with the San Antonio AIDS Foundation Policies and Procedures. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public health, sociology or related field Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Knowledge of issues relating to people living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ Health and sexual health Knowledge of grant administration, research coordination, data collection, and/or facilitating the patient experience in research projects Working knowledge with electronic health record systems and familiarity with medical terminology Strong written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to generate high quality, technical writing and written/oral presentations Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases Detail oriented with meticulous planning, organizational and customer service skills Ability to travel occasionally Working conditions This job operates in a professional office environment.
