Position Summary BGCSV seeks an experienced and motivated Grant Writer to help drive the organization’s growth by securing essential funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Grant Writer will play a critical role in sustaining and expanding BGCSV’s programs by researching funding opportunities, developing persuasive proposals, cultivating strong relationships with funders, and ensuring timely reporting and stewardship. This role is ideal for a strong writer and relationship-builder who is passionate about youth development and eager to contribute to a mission-driven team. Key Responsibilities Grant Development & Management Research, identify, and evaluate new grant opportunities from foundation, corporate, and government sources. Write compelling, clear, and persuasive grant proposals and reports aligned with organizational priorities. Manage the full lifecycle of grants, including renewals, upgrades, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements. Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather accurate data, budgets, and program narratives. Stewardship & Relationship Building Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders through regular communication, updates, and site visits. Coordinate with internal teams to host funder tours and provide impact stories. Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for BGCSV’s mission and programs. Data & Recordkeeping Maintain up-to-date grant records in the database and ensure accurate reporting systems. Track deadlines, deliverables, and outcomes to support successful grant compliance. Research and maintain statistical data relevant to youth development and BGCSV programming. Cross-Team Collaboration Partner with the Resource Development and Marketing teams to contribute content for newsletters, the Annual Report, and donor communications. Provide input to support strategic planning and development initiatives. ) Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2–3 years of grant writing and grants management experience, ideally within a nonprofit organization. Proven track record of securing funding from foundations, corporations, or government sources. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate programs and impact into persuasive narratives. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Knowledge of fundraising research tools and techniques. Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor management/CRM databases.
