Key Responsibility: Editing & Refinement of Draft Proposals: Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and faculty member to refine the first drafts of grant proposals. Ensure that proposals are well written, concise, and in alignment with the goals of the faculty while addressing the specific requirements of the funding body. Funder Alignment & Research: Identify potential grant opportunities that aligned with the research and development goals of AKU-IED. Analyse and study the preferences of various funders to ensure the proposal content is tailored to meet the specific expectations of each funder, creating a strong alignment between faculty projects and funding sources. Advise faculty on the suitable funding by matching the project opportunities, ensuring alignment with funders’ priorities and areas of interest. Proposal Matching & Customization: Review and modify proposals to meet the distinct requirements and priorities of different funding agencies. Ensure that all the submissions follow the technical guidelines, specifications, formatting standard, and submission protocols provided by funders. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and organize records of all submitted proposals and grant opportunities. Keep track of funding outcomes, track progress and success rates of grant applications. Trainings and Workshops: Design and facilitate training sessions and workshops to strengthen grant writing skills among faculty members and PhD students. Requirements: Educational Qualifications: A Master’s degree in education, Social Sciences, or related fields. Experience: Proven experience in developing, writing and editing successful grant proposals in the fields of education and social sciences, with a track record of securing research and development grants. Experience in academic writing support, including editing theses and other scholarly documents. Skills & Competencies: Strong research, writing, and editing skills, with sharp eye for attention to detail and a solid understanding of academic research language. Ability to tailor content to meet the demands of a wide variety of funders, including international agencies and foundations. Skilled in analysing and interpreting funder guidelines to ensure proposals align with both funder priorities and faculty research interests. Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities, with the capacity to handle multiple proposals and competing deadlines effectively. Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
