The International Association for Democracy (IAD) is an NGO that works to defend and advance democracy around the globe. We link people with their governments and lobby governments to promote, strengthen and safeguard democratic institutions, processes, norms and values at home and abroad. We also work towards raising public awareness about the current state of democracy around the world and what should be done to better defend and promote democracy. IAD is looking for a Grant Writing Officer to join the fundraising team to help us grow as an association. This role is expected to take 3-5 hours per week.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience with fundraising or crowdfunding (in personal or professional capacity)
• Experience in research and writing documents and applications
• Basic understanding of Google Workspace and collaboration tools on Google Docs
• Passion for promoting democracy, rule of law and human rights

• Research grant opportunities and identify foundations to apply to
• Write and create the applications for these grants
• Manage the application process with the foundations
• Cooperate with the other volunteers in the fundraising team with broader collaboration to assist in the overall work of raising money for the NGO
