Description

A great UHY client is seeking an Grants Accounting Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in nonprofit or grant accounting at a managerial level, excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills and experience with financial oversight, compliance and team leadership.
The Grants Accounting Manager role is a onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

Grants Accounting Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of grants, from award to closeout.
  • Manage all aspects of grant compliance, collaborating with program staff to ensure timely and accurate billing and reporting.
  • Supervise staff in collecting necessary supporting documentation for accurate grant billings.
  • Review and analyze grant and contract terms to ensure accurate expenditure calculations and allocations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Finance Department and Program staff to ensure alignment and clear communication.
  • Foster and maintain productive working relationships with grantors as required.
  • Perform general accounting duties including account reconciliations, assisting the Financial Controller with audits, and preparing journal entries during month-end close.
  • Maintain monthly accounting records to support grant billing and oversee or prepare monthly invoices.
  • Prepare financial documentation and reports required for the annual A-133 (Single) Audit.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in social services and financial management by participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, internal committees, and company-wide projects as assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Uphold the company’s Code of Ethics and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Grants Accounting Manager Requirements and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • 5-7 years prior supervisory experience
  • 3-5 years of grants management experience required
  • A-133/Single Audit experience preferred
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable transportation for day-to-day job performance
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, strong skills with Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
  • Sitting, standing, walking, driving, repeated hand and wrist motions (for use of computers, phones, and other office equipment) are required
  • Vision must be suitable to read printed material and computer screen
  • Hearing and speech must be sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone
