POSITIONSUMMARY The Grants Database Manager isresponsible for the Grants Management System (GMS) and for assuring operationsare aligned with generally recognized grants management best practices as wellas DC Bar Foundation (DCBF) standards. The Manager will play a key role indeveloping and executing the lifecycle of all grant programs through the customSalesforce module employed by the Foundation. As DCBF works to become morecentralized with its data, this role will be instrumental in helping us grow inour data practices. The Grants Database Manager is a core team member who willmanage the GMS and use grantee data to help demonstrate the impact of theFoundation’s investments. The ideal candidate for thisrole is someone who has the knowledge of and has used the listed technologies,ideally acting as a project leader. The ideal candidate brings with thementhusiasm for supporting others with less technical skills and experience,enjoys connecting with others and working as part of an engaged team. Acommitment to continuous improvement is critical; evidenced in this role byongoing review and evaluation of existing data, and development of datacleaning and analysis strategies to improve and maximize data usage. Experienceworking in a small organization and with grants management is a plus. ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS The following list of duties isnot exhaustive. The Foundation may also outline additional responsibilitiesthat are not included in this job description. • Serve as system owner for the GrantsManagement System (GMS), including vendor management, administrative andquality oversight, and content control with assistance from the Technology andData Governance Specialist. • Set up, manage, and establish the protocolsfor the GMS, including training and supporting the Programs Team and providingsupport to Grantee Partners. • Responsible for software-related activitiesin programming, process workflow configuration, data management, data analysis,and reporting for the grants management system. • Manage third-party software integrations suchas DocuSign, FormAssembly, and Tableau. • Provide GMS-related administrative support tothe Programs Team throughout the life cycle of each grant round includingpreparing, auditing, and monitoring application submissions, providingtechnical assistance to applicants and grantees, coordinating the applicationsreview process, preparing and monitoring grant award documentation, grantadjustments, grant extensions, preparing and submitting invoices for grantpayments, and scheduling and monitoring grantee report submission. • Utilize data in the GMS to create dashboards,ad hoc reports, mapping, graphs, and other visualizations for various internaland external stakeholders. • Provide general operational support includingthe organization of files, creation of presentation materials, and data entry. • Ensure integrity of data, in accordance withlegal and regulatory requirements, as well as DCBF’s processes andrequirements, including leading data clean-up initiatives (deduplication,ensuring data accuracy, etc.). • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improveoperations, streamline processes, and work cooperatively to execute programseffectively, addressing issues necessary to enhance desired outcomes. • Keep abreast of new Salesforce features,functionality, and integrations to provide recommendations for processimprovements. MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS Education& Experience • Experience working in a nonprofit orfoundation environment, preferably supporting grantmaking functions. • Knowledge of nonprofit grantmaking processesand procedures, including participation in at least one full grant cycle withmultiple applicants. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of workexperience. • Minimum of four years of progressiveexperience handling responsibilities comparable to those outlines for thisrole. Technical& Systems Expertise • Strong experience with Salesforce, includingcustom modules, workflow configuration, reporting, and system administration. • Proficiency in data querying, reporting,analysis, and dashboard development. • Strong data management skills including datacleaning, deduplication, data integrity protocols, and database governance. • Understanding data privacy, security, andcompliance requirements. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite andAdobe Acrobat. Data Strategy& Continuous Improvement • Demonstrated commitment to continuousimprovement through evaluating systems, processes, and data practices. • Ability to develop data analysis strategiesthat support organizational learning and impact measurement. • Experience supporting organizational datacentralization or data maturity initiatives. • Ability to translate data insights intoaccessible information for non-technical audiences. COMPENSATIONAND BENEFITS We believe in paying fairly andcompetitively. To execute this, we utilize a strategic compensation reviewprocess to determine starting pay rates as well as annual adjustments. Thehiring range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000. Decisions regarding eachindividual’s compensation are made using a holistic analysis of market rates,experience, competencies, education, performance, internal equity, annualbudget, and economic state.
