REGISTRATIONS, LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS OR CERTIFICATIONS:

Certification as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of: HHSC’s policies and procedures, including grants management and procurement policies and procedures; state and federal grant administration practices and regulations; HHSC programs; project management and process improvement practices; and technical solutions for managing grants, contracts, or social service programs.
Skill in: verbal and written communications; project management monitoring; facilitating meetings; coordinating with internal and external stakeholders; preparing written analyses and reports; analysis and problem solving; identifying and escalating risks; managing new situations when encountered; developing policies and procedure; and the operating of a computer and applicable software.
Ability to: learn and understand software programs; work independently with limited supervision; stay on task and meet deadlines; handle multiple assignments with competing deadlines; coordinate and work well with other staff and maintain effective working relationships; set and meet project goals, accurately interpret and apply federal and state statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions; analyze complex information and develop plans; to communicate effectively; and developed efficient processes.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with health and human services programs.
  • Experience in grant management and procurement.
  • Experience providing training or technical assistance.
