WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) … The Grants Manager oversees the full lifecycle of all federal and state grants, from opportunity identification and pre-award planning to post-award management, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement. This position also develops and supervises the grants and philanthropy intern pipeline, creating structured workflows that support organizational priorities and professional growth. As a key liaison across departments, the Manager ensures timely execution of grant requirements, centralizes information flow, and provides leadership with actionable insights on funding performance and capacity. By combining strategic grant management, operational oversight, and talent development, this role strengthens the organization’s funding strategy and ensures sustainable support for mission-driven program ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Grant Opportunity Strategy & Pre-Award Planning Conduct internal reviews of program needs and assess feasibility of external funding Maintain grants calendar to guide early-stage planning and prioritization Identify and evaluate funding opportunities based on alignment, eligibility, timelines, and capacity Research funding sources via materials, listservs, meetings, and correspondence Coordinate internal input to support go/no-go decisions and assess organizational readiness Grant Management, Compliance & Operations Supervise the full lifecycle of all federal and state grants, including applications, reporting, renewals, and amendments Oversee grant writing for proposals, editing all content before final submission Monitor deliverables, deadlines, and compliance requirements Maintain detailed grant records and documentation Manage and improve grant and intern tracking systems Prepare internal reports, analyze data for trends, and implement process improvements Facilitate collaboration across development, finance, and program teams Assist with departmental event planning Represent Newport Mental Health professionally at internal and external events Intern Pipeline Development & Supervision Supervise grants and philanthropy interns, including workload management and professional development Develop and refine intern workflows and supervision models Support expansion of a structured intern pipeline with internal and external partners Other duties: Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. Attend trainings and meetings as assigned. Adhere to safety policies including participation in fire/disaster drills. Requirements WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU… Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience in grants administration, grant management, or a related role. Strong documentation practices and ability to maintain institutional knowledge related to grants and compliance. Demonstrated experience with post-award grant management, compliance, and reporting. Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage and mentor interns or staff. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grant tracking systems such as Monday.com. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while coordinating across teams. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience managing awarded grants and financial reporting.
