JOB SUMMARY

KBW has partnered with a great organization in the Greater Boston area seeking a Grants Research Accountant. This is a 3-month onsite contract opportunity. This role will support grant financial management and reporting, ensuring compliance and accuracy across all active grants. If interested, apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Review grant submissions alongside Principal Investigators and Assistants, verifying documentation and monitoring for under- or overspending.
  • Compare all grants with Interdepartmental Service Agreements (ISAs) to determine financial needs.
  • Reconcile grant accounts to confirm balances and ensure alignment with overall financial statements.
  • Provide updates to Principal Investigators and Assistants on grant spending, and generate necessary financial reports.
  • Ensure all grant documentation complies with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Prepare monthly reports, review financial data, and support team reporting needs.
  • Track and monitor actual budgets monthly for each grant, identifying necessary adjustments to projections based on spending patterns.
  • Process accounts payable transactions, including check requests, site payments, invoices, and internal transfers.
  • Maintain records of grant proposals submitted and awarded, and reconcile grant data from prior periods.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of grant management, preferably in higher education or similar environments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems quickly and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • High attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
