POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Grants Accounting, the Grants Specialist will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding to support the organization’s programs and initiatives. This role involves researching grant opportunities, writing compelling proposals, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and managing reporting deadlines. The Grants Specialist collaborates closely with program, finance, and leadership teams to align funding strategies with organizational goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration or related field and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in grants/contracts reporting and compliance in a nonprofit, or any acceptable equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Language: Proficiency in oral/written English; Spanish preferred; additional languages a plus (i.e., Creole).
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel, other data collecting programs).
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Successful completion of Toxicology test, L2 and local background screening, and OIG.
  • Valid FL Driver License

VALUED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and financial management.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, persuasive narratives.
  • Culturally sensitive to the social, psychological, and healthcare needs of the vulnerable populations serviced.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills in order to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrates a high level of productivity while remaining calm and effective under pressure.
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, with multidisciplinary teams and co-workers.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
