Ripple Effect is looking for a Graphic Artist with at least 2 years of professional experience to support our client’s mission. This role will work closely with Medical Research and Development Command (MRDC) Strategic Communications Division to create visual concepts using computer software to convey ideas in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner that supports the Public Affairs Office in order to meet high-visibility, quick-turn requests.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven graphic design experience related to science/health or military communications.
  • Knowledge of cost-effective methods to produce printed deliverables
  • Knowledge of 508 Compliance Accessibility requirements, remediation, and strategies, to include appropriate use of alt. tags
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Point software and presentations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with clients and teams with strong time management and attention to detail to meet deadlines
  • Must be willing and able to report to client site (Frederick, MD) on a daily basis

SKILLS THAT SET YOU APART

  • Experience developing content and image repositories for broad use in presentations and projects
  • Experience producing content for federal departments, agencies, or offices, preferably the Department of Defense
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Responsibilities
  • Design, edit, produce, and publish a variety of high-quality, visual products and display materials, including graphics for use in slideshows, templates, logos, brochures, flyers, business card templates, digital animations and graphics, command publications, scientific posters, exercises, VIP visits, tradeshow exhibits, installations (display cases and wall graphics), and other informational materials ensuring optimal print quality.
  • Create 508-accessible web deliverables and PDFs, with required alt. tags.
  • Regularly propose new concepts, working with contractor and Government teammates to produce militarily relevant content.
  • Serve as on-site, graphics POC to support graphics reach back. Assist with gathering photos, maintaining photo repository, conducting pre-client reviews.
  • Continually update and maintain image library for relevant images related to all research areas that can be used for presentations and productions.
  • Edit & format PowerPoints for consistency and uniformity throughout slide decks.
