This position supports NSWCPD Code 24 which is responsible for program management, engineering, technical, and logistics support for Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems on U.S. Navy Submarines. Essential functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. * Graphic design support including planning, analyzing, and creating visual solutions to communicate messages through print and electronic media. * Provide graphic illustrations, photography, and print layout techniques using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and premier software. * Assist NSWCPD with issuing Fleet-messages, ISEA Advisories, and technical notices to the Fleet and other agencies to disseminate vital information. * Receive, evaluate, and interpret information received from Fleet, as well as all relevant data sources, to determine the best course of action to insure reliable operation of the effected submarine systems and report findings. * Provide engineering and technical support regarding the design, repair, qualification, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of U.S. Navy submarine propulsion, electrical, mechanical, auxiliary and information systems. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Required education and experience: * Associates degree from an accredited university. * Three (3) years of experience in providing graphic design support including planning, analyzing, and creating visual solutions to communicate messages through print and electronic media. * One (1) year experience with graphic illustrations, photography, and print layout techniques using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and premier software. Experience using Microsoft Office including PowerPoint. * One (1) year of the three years including experience with U.S. Navy programs, organizations, and functions. Preferred education and experience: * 3 years of experience in graphic design. * Navy and/or NAVSEA experience. Competencies: * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software. * Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and premier software. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate. * Thorough understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed. * High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors. * Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
