Location: Lynchburg Hours: 10–15 hours per week Duration: Fall 2026 Compensation: Unpaid Academic Credit: Eligible (with school approval) Events Internship Creative| Collaborative |Portfolio-Building Turn ideas into visuals. Learn by creating. Build your professional portfolio. This internship is designed for students or aspiring designer interested in gaining hands-on experience creating professional marketing and communication materials. Interns will work alongside HumanKind's Communications team to develop creative content that supports programs, fundraising efforts, and community outreach while building a strong porffolio of real-world work.  This is a structured learning opportunity focused on creativity, mentorship, and developing practical graphic design skills in a professional setting. What You’ll Learn & Experience * Gain hands-on experience designing digital and print materials that support HumanKind's mission and programs. * Create graphics for social media, newsletters, presentation, flyers, brochures, event materials, and internal communications. * Learn how to apply and maintain consistent organizational branding across multiple communication platforms. * Assist with photo selection, image editing, and preparing graphics for print and digital use. * Gain experience using applications to develop professional-quality marketing materials. * Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns, events, and organizational initiatives. * Learn how graphic design supports fundraising, recruitment, community engagement, and brand awareness. * Receive feedback throughout the design process and learn how to revise projects based on stakeholder input. * Assist with organizing digital assets, maintaining digital files, and managing project timelines. * Strengthen professional skills including creativity, communications, collaboration, time management, adaptability, and attention to detail. Mentorship & Growth Interns are supported by experienced staff who provide guidance, feedback, and opportunities to work on meaningful projects from concept to completion. This experience is designed to help individuals build confidence, learn workplace expectations, and provide valuable portfolio pieces that demonstrate real-world experience. Responsibilities
