The Graphic Design Specialist will assist in supporting the mission of the Aviation Center of Excellence (AVCOE) G5, training brigades, and Capability Development and Integration Directorate (CDID) by providing analysis, assessment, coordination, and support for functions related to Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) to enhance analysis, assessment, coordination, integration, synchronization, interconnectivity, and program development between AVCOE and the relevant Community of Practice (CoP). This position requires a diverse skill set, including graphic design, photo editing, and presentation creation with rich informative graphics. The ideal candidate will possess strong consulting, analytical, and communication skills (verbal, visual, and written). The candidate will create impactful deliverables and must be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Must have a portfolio of work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE):

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a high-intensity, mission-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal, consultative, analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Skilled in developing high-quality communications products tailored to senior-level audiences
  • Experience creating executive-level briefings, speeches, and articles for 2-star leadership and above
  • Knowledge of Army Aviation operations, culture, and DOTMLPF-P assessments
  • Familiarity with Aviation Transformation and the future of the Aviation Branch
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional teams and stakeholder groups
  • Sound technical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to mission-critical requests
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Captivate, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, Dreamweaver, Spark) and related graphics/video tools
  • In-depth understanding of acquisition systems assigned to the Aviation portfolio
  • Professional, proactive, and ethical with a positive, team-oriented mindset

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MA/MS degree a plus
  • U.S. Army or Army Aviation experience strongly preferred

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active Secret clearance required
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and execution of communication strategies, campaigns, and products
  • Capture, analyze, and document customer requirements
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to conceptualize and execute designs
  • Conceptualize and design engaging graphics for presentations
  • Create infographics, charts, and graphs
  • Provide meeting support (for example, agendas and readaheads, printing, coordination, and notetaking), as needed, to capture requirements and obtain customer feedback
  • Coordinate with AVCOE Directorates, Brigade Commanders, Army Capability Managers (ACMs), Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO Aviation), and Program Managers (PM) at the various Aviation Program Offices to assist in the synchronization and updating of the Aviation Enterprise Common Operating Picture
  • Develop executive (2-star level and above) briefings, speeches, and articles relating to Army Aviation Operations, Training, Doctrine and Program Management within the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC)
  • Prepare detailed reports, information papers, executive summaries, presentations, hand-out materials, results, conclusions, recommendations
  • Effectively use processes, such as the Aviation Enterprise Synchronization Model, to interface with the AVCOE Commanding General, and Senior Leaders in Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), TRADOC, U.S. Forces Command (FORSCOM), Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Army Materiel Command, (AMC), Capability Development Integration Directorate (CDID), US Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASOAC) and Technology Applications Program Office (TAPO)
  • Collaborates with Senior Leaders, Agencies, and Action Officers throughout the Aviation Enterprise
  • Coordinate and synchronize efforts across the Aviation Enterprise with Army Staff, AMCOM, PEO Aviation, USASOAC, and CDID
