Description

This position is a highly creative storyteller with strong knowledge of current design software, working with a dynamic team of professionals tasked with deployment of messaging campaigns, and promotions that educate the public and our agency’s employees. This position exhibits exceptional creativity and innovative design skills and a thorough understanding of branding and marketing with the ability to vary style and layouts based on project scope. This position holds a strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics, including video and photography.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Media Arts, Marketing Communications or a related field. Three years of equivalent industry-specific experience may substitute for required university-level study. A combination of experience, along with high school diploma or GED, may substitute for minimum education requirements.

EXPERIENCE:

Post-graduate professional experience in graphic design preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Proficiency with design software and technologies, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, MS Office Suite along with knowledge of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX)
  • Works with Communications team to design, prepare and execute District’s communications and promotional initiatives and projects across a wide variety of internal and external platforms. Projects will include the design of visual graphics, presentations, collateral materials and internal communications.
  • Develops, designs and publishes community and internal publications to help increase public awareness of Health Care District programs and activities.
  • Provides support and planning for internal and external, public events and activities.
  • Assists District departments and staff in preparing and giving presentations, when requested.
  • Provides indirect supervision to other graphic designers and department administrative support personnel as required.
  • Supports content updates and development of the corporate website and day to day activities of all social media campaigns.
  • Attends conferences, workshops, and meetings, when requested.
  • Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
