QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • A keen eye for aesthetics down to the details
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, layout techniques, and UX
  • Experience designing marketing assets for print and digital mediums (including but not limited to: catalogs, postcards, websites, social media platforms, and email marketing)
  • Ability to adhere to and interpret style guide/ brand guidelines
  • Willingness to take design risks, innovate and experiment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to project timelines and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams (a good sense of humor helps)
  • Ability to incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders and revise designs as necessary
  • Solutions-oriented mindset to innovate around design challenges
  • Passion for staying on top of industry trends, design tools, and best practices to continuously improve design quality and effectiveness
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and tools
  • Understanding of print and digital publishing processes and software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline
  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
  • Major bonus points for UX experience
  • Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems (bonus points for Magento experience)
  • Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software (working with CGI environments is a big plus)
  • Experience in image handling and processing
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE IN OUR JOURNEY

The Wine Enthusiast creative division is seeking a mid-level Graphic Designer to work across our print catalog and commerce website. The primary responsibility of the graphic designer will be to help envision and execute layouts for the print catalog and website, and design promotional assets such as banners, postcards and emails across digital and print.
The right candidate will be able to process creative briefs (communicated in writing or verbally) and interpret them into engaging and polished designs that inspire consumer action.
We are looking for a graphic designer who is proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Figma) and who works quickly and efficiently to produce finished layouts on deadline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Study design briefs and determine requirements
  • Organize workflow to meet deadlines
  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
  • Develop engaging visual multimedia assets such as infographics, illustrations, motion graphics, icons, logos and other designs using software or by hand as needed
  • Design graphics optimized for digital platforms including websites, mobile apps, social media platforms, and email marketing
  • Photo research, outreach, editing and retouching
  • Help to track source and credit for photos, images, illustrations and other elements
  • Work with editors and art director to refine layouts and produce final design for print and digital layouts and templates
  • Amend designs after feedback
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Work closely with marketing teams, copywriters, photographers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive marketing campaigns
    Location : This is a hybrid role with an onsite requirement of 2x’s a week at our Valhalla, NY headquarters.
