Do you love creating content? We are seeking a passionate Graphic Designer/Marketing Coordinator to join our Sydney based team working for one of our major retail trade events.

This multi-faceted full-time role is a key support to the Marketing Manager, where you will execute all graphic design and online content for a major retail trade event – an established brand known for its high-quality creative concepts and discerning audience. We want you to live and breathe our brand through your work on all our in-house graphic design and online content for social media.
The Opportunity:
We want to see our online community thrive and we love trying new things – we want you to be a leader in social media – experimenting with new ideas, thinking outside the box to create content that is fun, confident and connected as you work with our exhibiting brands to curate imagery and copy that engages. Your graphic design ability will be depended upon to produce all our collateral across email design and content, digital advertising, print and web.
The ideal candidate will also be curiously analytical – using our data and insights to continually improve. You will also assist with general marketing administration – a great way to grow your skills and get exposure to a global event industry.
The perfect match for us will be someone who is creative, accountable and ready to take full ownership of this role. You’ll be open minded, resilient and able to grow within the demands of the role to keep pace with the events industry.
You join a small, tight knit team (within one of the world’s biggest event companies) who deliver this event twice a year to over 13,000 attendees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you’ll create and execute all design across web, print and social.
- Day to day management of our social platforms – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest – including curating content, writing copy, responding to comments/like and engagement.
- Liaise with our sales department and exhibiting brands to source content and create a stylised Instagram feed; write engaging copy for social media.
- Support the event team onsite; and take on ad hoc marketing work where required
- Report back to Marketing Manager key results from social initiatives and ongoing ideas and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide creative solutions and ideas that increase our online engagement; apply the same thinking to all collateral to ensure all output accurately represents our brand values and qualities
- Manage relationships with external suppliers for advertising and print production.
About you:
- Tertiary qualified in Graphic Design preferred but not essential
- Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite
- Advanced understanding of Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest as social media platforms
- Previous experience with email and web content management systems are a plus
- Positive and enthusiastic about good design, beautiful products and keen to dive head first into understanding our industry and identifying the key brands/influencers
- Able to fit in nicely with a small team; and work well with our external suppliers and exhibiting brands
- Good initiative toward driving outcomes and creative solutions
- Intuitive and detail oriented – no mistake will go unnoticed by you, strong copywriting skills aligned with our brand tone.
- Able to work independently, quickly and manage own workload to meet all required deadlines.
- A great communicator – you’ll share ideas, ask feedback, put your hand up if you need help and contribute to the team environment
- Creative!! Big ideas and understanding of how best to execute them as an advocate for our brand
