At Bear Marketing, innovation meets strategy to deliver compelling content and launch impactful campaigns. We're a dynamic agency that thrives on big ideas and even bigger results. If you're ready to push boundaries and jump into a fast-paced creative team, you'll fit right in!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you an experienced graphic designer who thrives in a busy studio? Bear Marketing is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team on a 4-week fixed-term contract starting at the end of October or earlier if the need arises , while one of our senior designers is on leave.

This is a full-time, in-office role (5 days a week) in our Kelvin Grove office. You'll slot straight into a busy workload, working across a wide range of clients and industries, with the variety to keep every day fresh. One day you might be building a website mockup, the next you're designing brand collateral, social content, digital ads or a logo.

We need someone who can hit the ground running: confident, fast and detail-obsessed, who can take a brief and turn it around to a high standard with minimal hand-holding.

There's also the potential for this role to continue as casual overflow or leave cover for the right person, if you're open to it.

WHY JOIN BEAR MARKETING?

Diverse Projects: Work across website, brand, social, digital and logo projects for clients in a wide range of industries.

Collaborative Team: Work alongside our designers, web, video and digital teams, and see your work go out into the world.

Ideal Location: A vibrant Kelvin Grove office close to fantastic cafes, restaurants and the QUT campus.

Ongoing Opportunity: Impress us, and you could be first in line for future casual and cover work.

Great Culture: A supportive, high-achieving team where your creativity is celebrated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Creative Delivery:

Brand Consistency: Apply and uphold client brand guidelines across every deliverable.

Multi-Channel Design: Create website mockups, brand collateral, social media graphics, digital ads and logos for a variety of clients.

Fast Turnarounds: Manage multiple projects and deadlines at once, picking up work from the senior designer you're covering.

Asset Management: Keep files, layers and creative assets organised so work can be handed over and picked up easily.

Collaboration & Quality:

Team Collaboration: Work closely with account managers, the video team and the digital and social team to deliver cohesive campaigns.

Quality Control: Review your own work before it goes to the client.

Feedback & Revisions: Take feedback on board and turn around amendments quickly and cleanly.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

A Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating commercial design work across digital and print, ideally including web, social and branding.

Proven Experience: Previous agency or in-house design experience, with the ability to work independently at pace.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Figma or similar tools for web mockups is highly regarded. Basic motion or video design skills are a bonus.

Attention to Detail: Precision is key. You can spot a misaligned element or a kerning issue from a mile away.

Fast-Paced Mindset: You stay calm and efficient under pressure and juggle competing deadlines without dropping the ball.

Strong Communication: You can collaborate seamlessly across design, video, digital and account teams.

Availability: Able to start at the end of October or earlier if the need arises and work in the office 5 days a week for the full 4-week period.

BEAR MARKETING CORE VALUES

Surprisingly, No Surprises: We live in the light of complete transparency and open communication.

No Hibernation: We know greatness exists outside where we've already been.

Better Than It Should Be: We aim to exceed expectations, delivering exceptional results.

Smart Solution Strategists: We love solving complex problems, driven by creativity and insight.

Well, If It Was My Business…: We are committed to our clients' success, treating their goals as our own.

Graphic Designer (Performance Marketing)

WHO WE ARE

Our mission is to establish a brand synonymous with comfort for Millennials and Gen Z customers globally. Hommey is a one-stop brand for home and lifestyle, championing personalisation with a focus on creating high-quality and aspirational products at an affordable price.

Founded in 2021, we’re a fast-growing and ambitious team poised to disrupt the homewares market. With our concept proven, we are focused on building a talented team to propel Hommey’s growth and community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Hommey is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our growing Creative team. Dedicated to our performance marketing channels, you’ll design paid creative made to cut through the scroll and turn curiosity into action.

Reporting to the Senior Brand Creative Manager, you’ll work closely with our Marketing and Performance team to turn campaign ideas, product stories and insights into compelling paid creative across Meta, TikTok and beyond. You’ll take ideas from concept through to execution, adapting creative for different audiences, placements and stages of the customer journey.

This role is for someone who enjoys a fast-paced brand and sees performance data as another creative input—a way to understand what’s resonating and where to take the work next.

DAY TO DAY, YOU WILL BE

  • Designing still and motion assets for paid social, display and programmatic campaigns across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and other digital channels.
  • Creating a range of creative variations across formats, placements and audiences, adapting ideas thoughtfully for each environment.
  • Working closely with the Creative Strategist to translate briefs and performance insights into strong creative concepts and directions.
  • Translating brand and design kits into performance environments without losing what makes it feel like Hommey, working collaboratively with the Brand Designer.
  • Using performance data to inform creative decisions; sharpening hooks, messaging and visual treatments based on what’s resonating.
  • Proactively bringing new creative ideas to the table, drawing from platform trends, cultural moments and what you’re seeing in the feed.

ABOUT YOU

You’re an organised and reliable graphic designer with a strong eye for composition, image-making and motion. You are commercially curious and use performance insights to make the work stronger.

Sounds good so far? You’ll be the kind of person who will have:

  • Have 3+ years in digital or graphic design with a paid social and motion portfolio you're genuinely proud of.
  • Are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro) as well as Figma.
  • Have hands-on experience designing for Meta, TikTok, YouTube and display campaigns, with a strong understanding of how creative needs to flex across platforms and placements.
  • Understand the principles of performance creative, from strong hooks and clear CTAs to creative fatigue, iteration and A/B testing.
  • Can manage multiple briefs and competing priorities without losing attention to detail or quality, moving quickly when needed.
  • A proactive mindset and collaborative spirit. You're a team player who thrives in fast-paced environments.

Bonus points for…

  • Experience working within a DTC, eCommerce or growth-focused lifestyle brand.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design tools or automation workflows.
  • An understanding of ad-to-page visual continuity and how it affects conversion.
  • A genuine curiosity about where platforms and formats are heading (and how to get there first).

WHY JOIN HOMMEY?

  • At Hommey, we’re building more than a home and lifestyle brand—we’re creating a movement defined by comfort, quality, and personalisation.
  • We believe in what we do. Be part of an ambitious start-up team disrupting the homewares market.
  • A flexible work culture is at the heart of what we do. We believe in flexibility and surrounding ourselves with passionate individuals who value creativity and teamwork.
  • We offer Comfort Days: these are five days in addition to A/L accruals.
  • We love our community and are customer-centric. We want to create products that make a difference in the lives of our customers.

TO APPLY

Please submit your Cover Letter and Resume/CV, including a link to your portfolio and LinkedIn profile. Only applicants who meet this criteria will be considered.
