Overview:
We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team. As a Graphic Designer & Print Technician member, you will play a crucial role in both the creative design process and the practical production of printed materials. You will utilize your design skills to create visually appealing graphics, layouts, and artwork, while also contributing to the efficient operation of printing equipment and processes. This role requires a blend of creative flair, technical proficiency, and a strong understanding of print production techniques.
Responsibilities:

1. Graphic Design:

• Develop creative concepts, graphics, and layouts for various printed materials, including brochures, posters, packaging, and promotional items.
• Use industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually appealing artwork and ensure design files are print-ready.

1. Prepress Preparation:

• Prepare and preflight design files for print production, ensuring they meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Perform color correction, image manipulation, and other prepress tasks to optimize artwork for printing.

1. Print Production:

• Operate printing equipment, such as digital printers, offset presses, or wide-format printers, to produce printed materials according to job specifications.
• Monitor print quality, adjust settings as needed, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure accurate and consistent output.

1. Finishing and Post-Press:

• Perform finishing tasks such as cutting, folding, binding, laminating, and packaging printed materials for delivery or distribution.
• Ensure finished products meet quality standards and customer requirements, including trim size, folding accuracy, and binding integrity.

1. Quality Control:

• Conduct visual inspections of printed materials at various stages of production to identify defects, errors, or inconsistencies.
• Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of print quality and accuracy.

1. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with colleagues in design, production, and customer service to coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address production issues, provide status updates, and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Proficiency in 3D Studio Max, Blender, AutoCad or SketchUp is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with print production processes, including prepress preparation, digital printing, and finishing techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
• Knowledge of color management, typography, and layout principles. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to printing equipment and software.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Fluent in English. Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is advantageous, but not required.
