JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The graphic designer is a visual storyteller who is responsible for the graphic conceptualization, production, and execution of print and digital communications for internal and external use. Reporting to the director of creative services, this position will help visually communicate Saint Leo University’s story across several communications channels, including print, digital, and social media. As part of the University Brand Marketing & Communications team, the graphic designer will work with fellow team members, internal clients, and vendors in the planning and development of work.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, graphic and interactive communications, or related field
  • A minimum of one to three years professional experience in graphic designWorking knowledge of Adobe After Effects for graphics animation, hand-coded HTML and CSS, and experience with DSLR cameras and photography preferred

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with 3D Issue or other flipbook technology
  • Proficiency in both Mac and PC operating systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Advanced problem-solving skills

Responsibilities
  • Designs a variety of print promotional pieces that adhere to the university’s brand standards, including mailers, postcards, invitations, brochures, programs, posters, flyers, signage, and the alumni magazine.
  • Develops visual content for the university’s digital channels, including email, web, and social media.
  • Contributes to strategic planning discussions by providing innovative ideas and solutions to help meet business objectives through graphic design.
  • Collaborates with internal clients in the development of creative work; collects specific project requirements and develops visual mood boards to share ideas with internal clients and team members.
  • Coordinates projects with internal and external vendors, obtaining price quotes and ensuring projects are printed accurately and on time.
  • Maintains and organizes graphic files and photos.
  • Other duties as requested.
