Description

COME BUILD SOMETHING WITH SHEPLEY BULFINCH AS A COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR!

As the Graphic Designer at Shepley Bulfinch, you will be an integral part of our marketing team, responsible for creating visually compelling graphics and materials that represent our brand, engage our target audiences, and showcase our design excellence. We are seeking a highly creative, versatile, and autonomous visual communicator who specializes in visual storytelling and infographic design. This role bridges design and marketing, supporting both architectural concept development and firm-wide communications. You will craft compelling visuals that translate complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives across digital, print, and motion platforms.

WHO WE ARE:

Shepley Bulfinch is a national architecture and design firm with offices in Boston, Hartford, Houston, Phoenix and Durham. Founded in 1874, the firm has a notable legacy of challenging convention, pioneering visionary design ideas, and collaborating with clients who seek to drive measurable change.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably within architecture, design, or creative industries.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing visual storytelling, infographics, and multi-platform design work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects), Figma, and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Keynote).
  • Experience with motion graphics and video editing (Premiere Pro, DaVinci, CapCut, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with architectural workflows or spatial design is a plus.
Shepley Bulfinch offers competitive benefits and compensation, including health and dental insurance, a 401(k) and profit-sharing plan, and flexible work schedules, as well as a range of professional growth and development opportunities.
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include developing high-impact presentations, diagrams, and branded narratives to communicate architectural concepts, strategies, and project stories. You will design data-driven visuals such as charts, maps, timelines, and infographics for proposals, reports, and public-facing materials, as well as support digital and print production by creating assets for websites, social media, email campaigns, brochures, flyers, and internal documents. Motion graphics and video content will further enhance storytelling for project highlights, walkthroughs, and firm promotions. As a steward of our brand, you will maintain visual consistency across all materials while pushing creative boundaries and collaborating with leadership to evolve the firm’s visual direction. This highly collaborative role works closely with architects, marketers, and leadership to align design output with strategic goals, campaigns, and content calendars. Finally, you will stay current with design trends, tools, and storytelling formats, experimenting with new media and techniques to continually elevate how we communicate our work.
