GENERAL SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer at Tongass Federal CU is a creative storyteller who brings the credit union’s mission and community focus to life through compelling visual design. The role produces a wide range of marketing materials - including print, digital, and in-person assets - such as campaign graphics, social media content, signage, card designs, and branded merchandise.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A portfolio showing strong, relevant design work (print and/or digital).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva.
  • Understanding of basic marketing principles and how design supports them.
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines while bringing fresh, creative ideas.
  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
  • Willingness to learn compliance and accessibility standards for design.
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong relationship-building skills with coworkers, partners, and community members
  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and digital communication tools.

    Pay: $56,800.00 - $63,200.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Create marketing-focused designs for flyers, posters, brochures, handouts, forms, and event displays.
  • Design digital graphics for social media, email campaigns, online ads, and digital screens.
  • Produce brand-consistent visuals for equipment design, ATMs/ITMs, in-branch signage, and other member-facing spaces.
  • Develop and format layouts for curriculum, financial education materials, and member guidebooks.
  • Maintain consistent brand identity, tone, and visual standards across all designs.
  • Design assets for projects supporting The Commons, NACUC, and other outreach or partnership initiatives.
