Position Description (Part-Time, Remote - based in WA, OR, or CA)
Job Title: Graphic Designer
Designation: Bench/Part-time with variable hours. Hours are not guaranteed and will fluctuate based on the needs of projects.
Office Location: Remote, work from home model, based in Washington state, Oregon, or California
Salary: $38-47 per hour, dependent on experience
Benefits: This is a “bench” position and is a non-benefitted, part-time, hourly role. Other benefits for all staff include 401(k) and matching, paid sick/safe time, flexible hours, and ability to work from home.
Position Level: Mid-career (4+ years of relevant work experience)
We are looking for a Graphic Designer that brings an eye for design, imagination, application of color theory, and strong collaboration skills to join our team. This person will support a range of design needs for client projects in the natural resources sector and business marketing materials, and we hope to welcome someone who is passionate about using their skills for work that is in service of our natural environment and communities. As design needs grow in the future, there is the potential for a part-time role with a consistent minimum number of hours per week.

Desired qualifications for this role include:

  • At least 4 years of experience working as a professional graphic designer.
  • A strong portfolio that showcases high-quality graphic and visual design work. Portfolio should demonstrate design skills including a good eye for layout, type, and color.
  • Ability to work independently and generate high-quality materials without direction from other designers.
  • Fluency with design software and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office 365 and online meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

Graphic Designer’s Core Responsibilities

  • Develop materials in a range of mediums: Develop materials and design elements for professional print and digital uses such as one-pagers, folios, flyers, reports, infographics, and social media graphics.
  • Work within and create style guides: Adhere to existing client style guides and create new style guides when needed.
  • Prioritize accessibility: Stay up-to-date on current best practices for accessibility for all design applications.
  • Collaborate with True Wind team members: Participate in meetings with other members of the True Wind team and develop design products based on direction and input from staff that work directly with clients and project teams
