Job Title: Graphic Designer
Office Location: Harbor Offices
Reports To: Director of Marketing & Consumer Experience
Summary: The Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village, a premier coastal destination in Destin, FL, is seeking a motivated and innovative Graphic Designer to join the Marketing and Events team. This person will create visual concepts to communicate ideas and information about the resort’s offerings and happenings. They will work on a variety of projects including websites, marketing materials, and print publications, ensuring designs are engaging, informative, and aligned with brand guidelines.
Hybrid Role: This position will allow for 3 days in office and 2 at home/outside of office.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, or related field or associate’s degree with equivalent professional work experience.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, social media, and other content creation. Be prepared to provide portfolio of samples of your work.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with coworkers and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong visual communication skills.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools.
  • Knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout principles.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
License Requirements Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visual Concept Development: Creating visual elements for various media, including print and digital formats.
  • Design Execution: Developing layouts, selecting typography, color palettes, and other design elements.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilizing graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with the marketing and events team to understand brand goals and creative needs for each project.
  • Branding Consistency: Ensuring designs align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
  • Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of design trends and emerging technologies.
  • Project Management: Managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality control.
  • Presentation: Presenting design ideas and concepts to clients or team members.
  • Maintain all creative assets and masters in easily accessible files for team use.

COMMON TASKS:

  • Designing logos, brochures, websites, and other marketing materials.
  • Creating infographics, illustrations, and other visual content.
  • Preparing mockups and prototypes for client review.
  • Selecting and manipulating images and other visual assets.
  • Adapting designs for different media and platforms.
