Description Who We Are: DHT Group, based out of Reese, Michigan has been ensuring safety and satisfaction for over 40 years. DHT is hiring at all facilities with additional Michigan locations in Newport and Port Huron and also Bellefontaine, Ohio. DHT has several divisions including Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply. DHT also operates full-service repair facilities. We are urgently seeking two (2) experienced gravel train drivers to fill gravel train positions in the Reese area. The Gravel Train Driver should expect to load and deliver product safely and maintain a professional image when interacting with customers, vendors, and other drivers. This is a local position with a home daily schedule. Applicants must have at least six months of gravel train experience. Essential Duties: • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes • Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure • Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the appropriate parties • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required • Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy • Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with state regulations • Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines • Check trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure no damage and all product has been removed Compensation Package: • New hourly pay structure -competitive hourly rate • Up to $2,000 sign-on bonus for experienced drivers • Paid time off after 90 days • 401k with partial employer match • Healthcare Insurance (Medical, HSA, Vision, Dental) after 30 days • Short-term & long-term disability • Company provided life insurance (buy-up option also available) • Legal Shield & ID Theft Protection • Pet insurance Requirements Acceptable driving record Valid Med card CDLA T endorsement At least one year of verifiable CDLA truck driving experience At least 6 months of gravel train experience Preferred Requirements At least 6 months of dump experience Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen • Must be able to pass a DOT physical
