Description Summary This is an entry-level labor position where you will be responsible for quickly and efficiently separating and stacking finished lumber in carts to help complete and fulfill orders. Excellent opportunities for advancement. Starting pay is $25.60. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pulling lumber that comes off a conveyor belt Sorting lumber by size, grade, and species Stack lumber into carts General labor and clean-up Meet Productivity goals while maintaining safety in every aspect of the job Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications Must be 18+ years old Must be able to pass a drug screen Industrial/Manufacturing experience preferred but not required Need to have the ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment Capable of performing all physical tasks, with accommodation if necessary Must be willing to learn new skills and work with a team Available to work Monday-Friday day or night shift (the candidate hired for this position will begin on day shift, but may be subject to shift changes in accordance with notification requirements.) Must be willing to maintain membership in good standing with Western States Regional Council of Carpenters Position Type/Schedule This is a full-time, nonexempt union position, and overtime work may be required as job duties demand. Per FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt and will be considered eligible for overtime pay. A typical schedule is Monday through Thursday, with ten-hour shifts; however, some Friday work may be required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This position is classified as “safety-sensitive,” meaning that an accident in this role could result in loss of life, serious bodily injury, or significant damage to property or the environment, as such candidates will be subject to comprehensive pre-employment drug screening, inclusive of marijuana (THC).
