GLL is looking for a Green keeper to work at Panshanger Golf Complex in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire on an permanent contract to ensure the upkeep of the grounds and facilities.
As Green keeper, you’ll be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own, and have a good a good eye for detail to maintenance issues. You’ll be the sort of person who thrives in a busy environment and will be unfazed by the variety of the role. You could be doing anything from cutting grass with hand-held strimmer’s and ride-on movers, preparing areas and equipment for events / activities to ensuring the general safety and cleanliness of the outdoor areas to ensure our customers get an exceptional experience. As with any role, there will be some desk time and paperwork, some shifts will include some weekend and evening work.
You’ll have previous experience of sports ground maintenance and use of relevant equipment/machinery with relevant professional qualifications such as NVQ/SVQ Level 2 Sports Turf Maintenance or IOG National Technical Certificate or BTEC First Diploma/First Certificate in Horticulture or City & Guilds National Certificate in Horticulture would be desirable. Flexibility, punctuality and reliability are just as important as integrity, a can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service. Passion and personality will stand you in good stead too. You’ll also have a valid driving licence and desirably a First Aid at Work qualification and be able to work both on your own and as part of a small team.
