We're the only platform combining AI-powered evaluation, certified refurbishment, warranties, and financing for second-life appliances—fixing the broken secondary market end to end. We've served 1,000+ customers, proven product-market fit, and secured funding to scale. Now we need a sales leader who knows how to build distribution networks that reach customers where they are. The Role We're hiring a Head of Sales to build and scale GreenBay's agent network across Kenya—a distributed salesforce that both sources trade-in inventory from communities and sells certified refurbished appliances to customers who need affordable, trusted products. Think Salesforce, but for appliances. You'll recruit, train, and manage a growing network of GreenBay Agents operating through branded collection/sales points—phone shops, electronics dealers, kiosks, and community hubs. You'll build the playbook, hire Area Leads, hit regional targets, and take GreenBay from 3 outlets in Nairobi to a pan-Kenya operation. This role is for someone who's built agent networks before—launching shops, training consultants, driving performance through data, and turning communities into customers. What You'll Do Build the GreenBay Agent Network Design and launch the GreenBay Agent program—a network of freelance sales consultants who source trade-ins and sell refurbished appliances in their communities Recruit and onboard agents across Nairobi and into new regions (Coastal, Western, Central, Eastern) Establish branded GreenBay collection/sales points through partnerships with existing shops (phone dealers, electronics stores, M-Pesa agents) Create the agent playbook: onboarding, training materials, commission structures, performance management Manage Area Leads & Drive Performance Hire and coach Area Leads (City Captains) who manage clusters of agents in their zones Set clear KPIs for agents and Area Leads—trade-ins sourced, units sold, revenue, customer acquisition Run weekly performance reviews, identify top performers, and address underperformance Build a commission structure that rewards both sourcing and sales Scale Regional Growth Own regional revenue and expansion targets Identify high-potential markets for second-life appliances based on demand and sourcing opportunity Conduct market analysis to prioritise where to launch next Run online and offline activations that build the GreenBay brand in new communities Drive Multi-Channel Sales Coordinate agent sales with our digital channels (Shopify, WhatsApp) and physical outlets Ensure agents can place orders on behalf of customers who aren't online Integrate agent-sourced inventory into our refurbishment and sales pipeline Maintain healthy gross margins across product categories Train & Empower the Network Develop training programs: product knowledge, pricing, how to assess trade-ins, and customer handling Create tools and content that help agents sell—price guides, WhatsApp scripts, promotional materials Build a community of agents who feel connected to GreenBay's mission What We're Looking For Must Have 4+ years building and managing agent networks, field sales teams, or distributed salesforces Experience at Jumia (JForce), Copia, Wasoko, SafeBoda, or similar platform with agent/consultant models Track record of launching 100+ agents or sales points and driving measurable growth Hands-on leader who recruits, trains, and motivates—not just manages from a desk Strong grasp of commission-based performance models and KPI management Comfortable with both online (WhatsApp, apps) and offline (field visits, activations) execution Based in Kenya with the ability and willingness to travel across regions Nice to Have Experience in appliances, electronics, or solar products Existing relationships with phone shops, electronics dealers, or retail networks outside Nairobi Background in circular economy, refurbishment, or trade-in programs Experience creating training content and sales tools for distributed teams What We Offer Competitive base salary + performance incentives tied to network growth and revenue Opportunity to build something from scratch—your network, your playbook, your team Mission-driven work: every appliance sold keeps e-waste out of landfills and puts affordable tech in Kenyan homes Growth path as we expand to new regions and countries Key Metrics You'll Own Number of active GreenBay Agents Number of branded collection/sales points launched Monthly trade-ins sourced through the agent network Monthly revenue from agent-driven sales Agent retention and performance rates Regional expansion milestones
