POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Greenhouse & Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure optimal plant health, and lead a dedicated horticulture team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of professional greenhouse and nursery management experience and a proven track record of production planning, staff supervision, and plant care excellence. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred to better support a diverse workforce and customer base.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in greenhouse and/or nursery management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred to facilitate effective communication with team members and customers.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant production, horticultural techniques, and pest/disease management.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse automation systems, irrigation technologies, and environmental controls.
  • Proficient in inventory tracking, recordkeeping, and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, inventory software).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily greenhouse and nursery operations, including planting, propagation, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and pest/disease control.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet seasonal demand and inventory targets.
  • Maintain optimal environmental conditions using climate control, irrigation, and fertilization systems.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff in horticultural best practices, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Manage purchasing of plants, soil, fertilizers, and other supplies while maintaining cost control.
  • Monitor plant health and quality, ensuring all products meet company and customer standards.
  • Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies and sustainable growing practices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, production logs, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to meet customer orders, special projects.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and efficient work environment that encourages team growth and development.
