Greenhouse Associate
Reports To: Garden Center Retail Manager
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
Type: Seasonal
Purpose: Greenhouse Associate team members will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers in their purchases, restocking plant inventories, maintaining plant health and appearance, and answering customer questions. Direction will be provided by the Garden Center Retail Manager.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Must be able to read and write English, perform basic math skills

• Ability to perform routine tasks to high standards, within a seasonally changing environment
• Work is performed in areas with weather extremes of heat, cold, and wet conditions
• Must be able to stand, bend and lift 50lbs
• This position requires standing/walking on hard surfaces during the entire shift, working at a fast pace
• Demonstrates excellent customer relations and communication skill- required
• Flexible schedule to work required shifts – weekends included
• Knowledge of plants or experience in this field is a plus, but not required

• Working directly on sales floor, connecting with customers and supporting fellow staff members in the selection of products to provide horticultural, landscape, and/or gardening solutions
• Having or learning a strong knowledge base of our products and services to best help customers
• Provide support and answer customer questions, provide information and process orders
• Assist with carryout and cart retrieval when needed
• Provide accurate, timely and friendly service to both Applewood Customers and potential customers
• Maintain a positive attitude when working with customer and coworkers
