We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, pricing strategies, and effective negotiation skills to secure the best possible outcomes for our company.

  • Strong Excel and computer skills including all MS Office programs.

Responsibilities
  • Review project requirements, specifications, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of scope, materials, labour, and other relevant factors.
  • Utilize specialized software tools and manual calculations to estimate costs for materials, labour, equipment, and other project expenses.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate prices with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure competitive pricing for project components.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs and timelines and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, quotes, and relevant correspondence for reference and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that estimates align with project objectives and timelines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimation processes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address questions, clarify requirements, and provide transparency regarding cost estimates and budget considerations. Conduct reviews and evaluations of completed project to analyze actual costs versus estimated costs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that estimates are prepared in accordance with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
