Description The Greenhouse IPM / Plant Health Coordinator is responsible for planning, documenting and implementation of all insecticidal, fungicidal, herbicidal and nutritional needs within the Tipp City Greenhouse Facility. Light greenhouse maintenance as well as outside weed control is also the responsibility of this position. Greenhouse IPM / Plant Health Coordinator reports directly to the Tipp City facility manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Maintain a current Pesticide Applicator License issued by the state of Ohio. · Responsible for daily inspections to identify pests, biological pathogens and nutritional issues. · Apply pesticides or fungicides as needed using all required PPE. Provide proper signage and communication as required by application. · Develop a plan for year over year disease and fungal prevention through rotating chemical usage. · Maintain a weed-free environment inside greenhouses and outside buildings by implementing a scheduled pre-emergent / herbicide protocol. · Establish and monitor the necessary microclimates as needed for the variety of plants on hand. Work with Greenhouse Coordinator and plant care team to implement. · Implement fertilization plan based on plant requirements. · Maintain the facility injection system. · Maintain watering systems, controls, sprinklers and under bench. · Plan and implement watering schedules based on weather and plant needs. Work with GH coordinator to develop proper watering protocol for plant care team. · Maintain greenhouse coverings. Work with facility maintenance and/or outside contractors for needs unable to be accomplished by greenhouse team. · Monitor the daily weather conditions. Adjust roof vents, side vents, and temperature controls to ensure the environment is conducive to optimum plant health. · Seasonally revisit with greenhouse and production teams to review previously created sanitation plan. Update plan as needed. · Maintain attitude, direction, policy and goals consistent with company philosophy · Ensure a safe and clean work environment Various other duties as assigned Requirements Knowledge /Skills/Abilities · Minimum associates degree or equivalent certification or work experience. · Knowledgeable in the methodology of plants, environment, and people during phytosanitary activities. · Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel. · Proficiency in basic computer operation for data entry. · Strong organizational and planning skills. · Positive attitude. · Ability to work independently as well as being a team player. · Excellent organizational and communication skills. · Fundamental reading, writing and math skills. · Ability to handle changes in routine or work rules, available to accommodate flexible work hours and working in extreme weather conditions. · Oriented to serving the customer. · Ability to use good judgement when making decisions. · Safety Oriented-Strick adherence to safety rules and protocols. · Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
