JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Greenhouse Manager to oversee our greenhouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture and agriculture, with hands-on experience in managing plant growth and greenhouse environments. This role involves ensuring optimal conditions for plant health, leading a team, and maintaining equipment and resources necessary for successful cultivation.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in greenhouse management or a related field such as farming or landscaping.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification and care techniques.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems and mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in physical outdoor work regularly.
• Basic math skills for record keeping and inventory management.
• Proficiency with hand tools used in gardening and maintenance tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with others in the agricultural sector. • Manage daily operations of the greenhouse, including planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops.
• Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light levels to ensure optimal growth.
• Implement irrigation systems and maintain them to ensure efficient water usage.
• Supervise staff in their daily tasks, providing training and guidance on best practices in horticulture and greenhouse management.
• Conduct regular inspections of plants for pests and diseases, applying appropriate treatments as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of plant growth, inventory levels, and production schedules.
• Oversee the maintenance of greenhouse equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Collaborate with other agricultural staff to coordinate planting schedules and crop rotation plans.
• Engage in outdoor work as necessary
