JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Greenhouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a willingness to learn about plant care and maintenance. This role involves various tasks related to the cultivation and upkeep of plants in a greenhouse environment, ensuring optimal growth conditions and health of the plants.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in horticulture or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
• A keen interest in plant care and willingness to learn about greenhouse operations.

• Assist in the irrigation of plants, ensuring they receive adequate water supply.
• Perform routine maintenance on greenhouse equipment, including repairs and upkeep of tools.
• Utilise hand tools and power tools for planting, pruning, and harvesting tasks.
• Conduct basic math calculations for measuring soil, fertiliser, and water requirements.
• Engage in heavy lifting as necessary for moving plants, soil bags, and equipment.
• Provide animal care when applicable, ensuring any greenhouse animals are well looked after.
• Monitor plant health and report any issues such as pests or diseases to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the greenhouse environment.
