JOB SUMMARY

AES is hiring Greenhouse Labourers for our client in Glencoe, ON.
As a Greenhouse Labourer, you will work hands-on in plant production, assisting with the growth and preparation of vegetable seedlings. This role involves physical labour, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team-oriented greenhouse environment to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.

REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Ability to operate various types of equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Flexible availability.
  • No prior education or experience required – full training provided.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects (20–30 lbs.).
  • Frequent bending, twisting, standing, crouching, and walking.
  • Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work 35–55 hours per week, with shifts varying between day and evening.

Responsibilities
  • Handle vegetable seedlings throughout production (seeding, transplanting, staking, shipping, material handling, cleaning).
  • Perform repetitive bending and lifting (20–30 lbs.) while tending to plants.
  • Examine plants for quality and prepare them for shipping.
  • Detect and report diseases or health problems in plants.
  • Fertilize, cultivate, spray, and irrigate crops as directed.
  • Follow bio-security procedures at all times.
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, temperature, screens, and lighting in the greenhouse.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance of facilities and greenhouse infrastructure.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
