ENERCON are now recruiting for a Grid Operations Coordinator.
Reporting to the Grid Operations Manager IE&NI, ENERCON Windfarm Services Ireland Ltd is now recruiting for a Grid Operations Coordinator. This specialist role will be based from our headquarters in Tralee Co. Kerry, with some travel expected nationwide and in Europe. The role is a hybrid of office and home working.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFILE:
- Minimum of trade qualification/ 3rd level in relevant electrical discipline is essential.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in similar role or wind industry role.
- SCADA experience is an advantage.
- Safe pass and full clean driving licence is essential.
- Team player & good communicator.
- Highly organised individual with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload without supervision.
- Motivated to remain upskilled and knowledgeable on new technical advances.
- Ability to show initiative and flexibility with workload.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Packages.
- SCADA experience is an advantage.
- Available for frequent nationwide travel as required.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all faults and necessary repairs to the MV/HV Equipment associated with the WECS i.e. Switchgear, transformers, etc. are organised & carried out in a timely manner. This is to include any necessary materials and associated labour required to carry out repairs.
- Provide support during the fault finding and repair of any LV equipment associated with, and necessary for the safe operation of the MV/HV equipment e.g. remote box, protection relay etc.
- To become familiar with and operate the databases necessary for the organisation of the above; and to populate them as necessary, in a timely manner
- To carry out all of the above for HV Switchgear and associated LV equipment, for ENERCON owned/operated which is without the WEC e.g. Sub Stations
- To liaise as necessary with owners, operators, technicians, DNOs etc. in Ireland and the region.
- To (after training & gaining supervised experience) act in the role of the Switching Control Engineer for the UK and IE; for both existing sites and first energisations
- To operate the software systems necessary to exercise all task within his or her area of responsibility.
- To organise and ensure that all MV/HV equipment and associated LV equipment, is inspected and maintained as required by law and ENERCON’s own procedures and good practice.
- To produce, or assist in the production of all documentation necessary for carrying out work to such equipment safely.
- To operate appropriately within associated electrical safety rules.
- Suggest and implement improvements to processes and protocols as required as required.
- To arrange and ensure that all record keeping is accurate and up to date e.g. correction of SLDs.
- To arrange and ensure that contractor provision is always adequate and in place.
- To ensure and maintain an excellent working relationship, close communication and sharing of information with other employees
- To take a pro-active approach to ensure that your technical understanding is undiminished with time and to complete and suggest training and development opportunities that you need where necessary and required
- Ensure that all issues, including Health and safety matters are reported promptly for rectification
- When and where required, travel to WEC sites throughout Ireland on a frequent basis and travel to Europe when required.
